Vietnamese Tet

Tet is a traditional holiday of Vietnam, but the original culture of Tet was from China, Vietnam adopted it and made it one of the Vietnamese holiday. Every midnight in Tet, people shoot fireworks up on the sky and it marks the end of the year. The atmosphere of Tet is very active. People going everywhere giving wishes, collect lucky money and lots of things. Especially, we eat Banh Chung, it is like a cake make from sticky rice, with meat inside it and wrap with a big leaf. Everyone must worship there ancestors in Tet they have to pay a visit to there relatives for good luck. Tet celebrate the new year , and luck for everything we do in the new year. Everyone usually buy new clothes. And bad luck surely will come to you if you clean your house in this day.But for every Vietnamese, Tet is one of the greatest holiday in Vietnam. And more, men throw party in Tet and wives help and then they enjoy the party with there family and friends. The young children usually wishes happy new year and money will flow in like water. Our tradional flowers for Tet is Hoa Mai for the south and Hoa Dao for the north.
